Each year, Milan Design Week sets the tone for global design conversations—and for 2026, Artemest delivers one of its most compelling presentations yet.
Returning for its fourth edition, L’Appartamento by Artemest once again takes over the remarkable Palazzo Donizetti, transforming the 19th-century residence into an immersive exhibition celebrating Italian craftsmanship, design and cultural heritage. This year’s theme, Italian Grandeur, explores the enduring influence of Italy’s artistic legacy through a contemporary lens.
Designed as a modern-day Grand Tour, the exhibition brings together leading international design studios—including Rockwell Group, MAWD | March and White Design and Charlap Hyman & Herrero—each tasked with reimagining a room using exclusively Italian-made furniture, lighting and décor sourced from Artemest’s network of artisans.
The result is a sequence of richly layered interiors, each drawing inspiration from a different Italian city. From a Venetian-inspired entrance by Sasha Adler Design to a theatrical Neapolitan dining room and a moody Roman salon, every space balances historical reference with contemporary design thinking. Elsewhere, Palermo’s cinematic opulence and Florence’s quiet craftsmanship are reinterpreted through intimate, liveable settings.
Beyond the interiors, the palazzo’s garden extends the experience outdoors—offering a more atmospheric, sculptural interpretation influenced by Pompeii, where materiality and form evoke a sense of time and transformation.
For brands, designers and PR professionals alike, L’Appartamento has become a standout moment within Milan Design Week—demonstrating the power of storytelling, collaboration and curated environments in bringing design to life. It’s a clear example of how experiential activations continue to shape the way audiences engage with luxury interiors and craftsmanship on a global stage.
Open to the public from 21–26 April 2026, L’Appartamento by Artemest remains one of the most talked-about design exhibitions in Milan—offering both creative inspiration and valuable insight into the evolving language of contemporary Italian design.
