Waterworks Introduces Finot - A Contemporary Declaration in Collaboration with GACHOT

Waterworks announces a new bath and kitchen fittings collection that represents their most contemporary expression to date. The comprehensive Finot assortment, comprising of over 50 styles, is the second collaboration for Waterworks and GACHOT and also includes bath accessories, lighting, and hardware pieces.

Inspired by sleek industrial design, perfectly tailored fashions, and modernist sculpture, Finot personifies true craftsmanship and ease of use. Each element within the collection, meticulously cast for precision and balance, transforms simple, pure shapes into nuanced sculptural pieces that celebrate minimalism.

This collaboration is part of a longstanding relationship with GACHOT that goes back many years. In addition to being Waterworks clients themselves, GACHOT consulted on the brand’s renovation of their New York, 58th Street flagship location and have specified Waterworks in many hospitality and multi-unit residential projects they’ve designed. The first product collaboration was the popular Bond collection four years ago, and both brands were eager to create something modern for their next pairing.

CEO and Creative Director of Waterworks Peter Sallick comments, “We have accomplished something special and rare with Finot. Finally, a contemporary fittings collection done the Waterworks way. Finot reflects a painstaking integration of our experienced design eye with our engineering expertise, and our instinct for humanity in the physical objects we make. In Finot, we see how the smallest details elevate the overall product and how refinement creates value. It’s a true expression of the unique capabilities and sensibilities of both Waterworks and our design collaborator, GACHOT.”

Finot is refined and well-constructed, reminiscent of the most precisely tailored fashion collections. The line is meticulously crafted to ensure balance and conforms effortlessly to the hand. The classic lever handle has a subtle tapered look, while the spout—created in one, seamless, swooping piece—has a distinctive eye-catching curve. There is a nuanced, sculptural quality to Finot that enables it to live just as comfortably in minimalist interiors as in more traditional spaces.

”We are proud to present this new collection as both the evolution of a friendship and an ongoing creative collaboration with Peter Sallick and the Waterworks team,” explains John Gachot, principal, and founder of GACHOT. “We found inspiration in the honesty of the objects that encompass our everyday lives and the many histories we study and draw from in our work. Finot, for us, represents the power and beauty of balance, rigor, and simplicity."

The collection extends beyond fittings to include additional pieces that elevate any interior. Lighting offerings include single and double wall sconces as well as ceiling mount fixtures with an elegant box form and radiused corners. The Finot collection also includes touchable hardware like knobs and appliance pulls as well as graceful glass shelving. Celebrating an honest and refined ethos, the entire line masterfully intertwines cylindrical forms, artful curves, and subtle reveals, resulting in fittings and accessories that seamlessly marry elegance with functionality.

“Our brand’s original roots were in traditional design, before we moved into transitional, which we truly mastered,” Sallick says. “Finot certifies our place in the contemporary world and our passion for its sleek, precise forms. It enables us to support all the best designers and projects across the world, with these pieces that feel at home in every space."

The Finot family of fittings and accessories will be available in Waterworks showrooms and at waterworks.com from June 2024. Finot fittings and wall mounted accessories will be stocked in chrome, nickel, brass, and dark nickel and available for order in all Waterworks special finishes.
